Welcome to Sojourn Ministry

We serve college students from KCPC EC through providing them a community in which they can call home, whether their “real” home is near or far.  Through Large Group, Community Groups (CG), and retreats, we provide opportunities for fruitful fellowship and spiritual growth.

What does Sojourn mean?

The significance of our name lies in the duality between our lives both as Christians and college students. This world is not our final home. We are sojourners, or even exiles of this world (1 Peter 2:11).  Similar to the Israelites who sojourned the wilderness for 40 years, we are led by God’s promise that we are called to a greater, everlasting, spiritual “Promised Land,” or Heaven.

As students, we know that our time in college is fleeting; a temporary stay.  We are sojourning through college before arriving at our spiritual home. Sojourn Ministry serves as a temporary spiritual home for college students while in school.

What do you do in Sojourn?

During Fall and Spring semesters, we offer CGs and hold a monthly Large Group on Friday evenings for college students in the area. We also hold Summer CGs on Tuesday-Thursday and weekly Friday Large Groups for students who are back and would like to continue fellowship.

If you would like more information about Sojourn or would like to join a CG, please contact Pastor John Yun at john.yun@kcpc.org.

Our Values

Intentional

We are intentional in that our relationship with God is not out of obligation, but rather a desire to obey and enjoy God deeply.  Our daily lives, studies, relationships with other people, and all other aspects of life are to make Christ more apparent in what we do.

Confident

We are confident in that we are united to Jesus Christ through faith and nothing can separate us from the love of God.  We strive to build up our members in knowledge and truth in the Gospel, that true Christianity is rational, essential, and personal.

Empowered

We are empowered by the Gospel, that it is not just good news, but that it’s also a transformative power that we can experience.  We are to work out our salvation and live it out.
